Case Study – Connecting Hot Water in Pascoe Vale

Essendon Plumbing Services had a call in early August from Gino in Pascoe Vale who had no hot water to his Laundry trough.

Our office took all the details and advised Gino that we could have an expert hot water plumber to his site and explained our charge out rates. Gino was happy to proceed and told our admin team he had sold the property and, as part of the sale conditions, he needed to get the hot water to the laundry. He also advised us he would not be at home when the plumber came but he could be contacted on his mobile if needed. He then organised access for our plumber and a day and time was scheduled.

Arrival on Site & Inspection

Lee, an Essendon Plumbing Services expert plumber attended the site and inspected the hot water system to the Laundry and found there was no hot water supply at all to the laundry.

Lee carried out a visual inspection of the existing hot water system layout and found that incorrect pipework had been run, which was exposed on the outside wall of the house. As the job was going to be greater than first suspected, Richard our Plumbing Estimator contacted Gino to explain what Lee had found and supplied him with a fixed price quote to fix up the non-compliant pipework - additional to fixing the hot water supply. This meant there was no surprises at the end of the job for Gino.

Removing Pipework & Connecting Hot Water

Lee removed the Rehau pipework on the outside of the house and installed a new copper hot water line and fed it into the laundry. The old hot and cold water breech supplying the Laundry trough needed to be isolated and sealed and a new sink mixer tap installed on the laundry trough.

Testing & Cleaning the Site

The washing machine taps then needed to be re-connected to the hot water supply. The pipework was all lagged and secured in position before testing the new installation. There was no leaks and the whole house now had hot water to all plumbing fixtures.

Lee then cleaned the site and removed all rubbish before contacting Gino and notifying him that the job was complete.
