Backflow Prevention

Backflow is the reversal of water flow or siphonage which can cause the water to flow in the opposite direction and back into the town’s main supply. Essendon Plumbing Services has a team of accredited backflow prevention device testers. We provide annual testing of all existing devices, installation of all makes and models of new devices and fault finding and servicing. The test results will determine the operating condition of the valve and if any repairs are required we will provide a fixed price quotation to do. All test results are then forwarded to the relevant water authority and your valve Is placed on Essendon Plumbing Services backflow prevention valve register for the following years audit. We will contact you approximately 14 days prior to remind you your valve is due for its annual audit.

Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMV)

TMV’s are a testable device used to provide hot water to plumbing fixtures usually basins, baths and showers at a set temperature to prevent scalding. The TMV will mix hot and cold water to the set temperature and has a fail safe position should the valve fail. TMV’s are required to be tested annually and a TMV test register is usually required to be kept on site. Every 5 years a more comprehensive service needs to be carried out involving changing over the heating element in the valve. The most common places to find TMV valves are hospitals, health and aged care facilities, child care facilities, hotels.
