A Master Plumber is a plumber or organisation that is a member of the Master Plumbers Association, where they must adhere to a strict code of ethics. This Association ensures all members are qualified and meet a number of practice and trade standards. It’s like having a black belt in plumbing.
Who is the Master Plumbers Association in Victoria?
Essendon Plumbing Services is a member of the Master Plumbers and Mechanical Services Association of Australia (MPSAA) known as the Master Plumbers Association in Victoria.
The MPMSAA is a registered national employer organisation providing representation and extensive services for a broad base of members in the plumbing and mechanical services sectors.
This Association is intent on ensuring that there is a uniformity in licensing of plumbing contractors, in the regulation of the plumbing industry and in the training delivery of plumbing qualifications.

Why is this important?
When you engage with a plumber who is a member of the Master Plumbers Association you are receiving peace of mind. The point of the association is to ensure customers that a plumber has the required skills and knowledge to properly fix their plumbing problem.
How do I engage a Master Plumber?
Before having any plumbing work done it is important to make sure you are booking a Master Plumber. To check, simply go to The Master Plumbers Association webpage and select the plumbing issue you have and type in your postcode, then you will see a list of master plumbers nearby.
It’s important to note that if you don’t use a Master Plumber, then you will have minimal recourse if something goes wrong. This will lead to expensive repair costs and could damage your property. Only a licensed plumber can issue a certificate of compliance (a plumber who is only registered cannot), giving you the security of a 6-year workmanship guarantee.
At Essendon Plumbing Services, we only employ fully trained Master Plumbers and we are a member of the Master Plumbers Association. This means we have the knowledge to solve the most complex plumbing problems.
How do I ensure the plumber is licensed & registered?
All Licensed and Registered Plumbers in Victoria hold a VBA ID card complete with Photo ID as well as classes of plumbing work they are registered and licensed to carry out. Don’t be afraid to ask to see their card prior to booking them in.
